Board member Ray Keener joined the bike industry in 1975 as a Midwest bike shop owner. Over the decades, he's worn many hats, focusing on helping bike retailers be more successful in sales, marketing and staff training.
Currently, his activities include a partnership with the National Bicycle Dealers Association in the bike shop staff training realm, a marketing role with the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association, and regular blogging and articles for Bicycle Retailer and Industry News magazine.
Keener has volunteered with Community Cycles as a clinic teacher. His expanded role as a board member will focus on helping CC sell and market more bikes and accessories, including training the sales staffers to deliver a more consistent and consumer-friendly message.
