On Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 the Walnut Café and sister restaurants The South Side Walnut and The Super Mini Walnut (Lafayette) will mark the 6th anniversary of Dana and Rocky's successful kidney transplant surgery by giving 100% of our profits from the day. Kirk "Rocky" Derichsweiler passed away on Dec. 12, 2011 – Organ donation saved his life and cancer took it. We will be sponsoring a fundraiser for a Foundation established in his name that will focus on Organ Donation education for kids through the Boys and Girls Club and kid's bike give away through Community Cycles! Donate Life Colorado will be participating as well as Community Cycles. And our friend Peggy Dyer from the "One Million Faces" project will also be taking photos and donating to the cause. If you cannot attend please consider making any size donation.
