Donate Your Old Bike and Bicycle Parts in Boulder, Colorado

Community Cycles is able to do what it does based on thousands of bike and part donations from the Boulder community. These donations function as "text books" for people going through the Earn-A-Bike and other bicycle advocacy and outreach programs.

What kind of bikes does Community Cycles accept?
CC accepts anything and everything bike related in any condition.

Will you pick up my donation?
No.

When can I drop off my donation?
You can drop off your donation whenever the shop is open, see hours here. Please drop your donations at the back door.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, Community Cycles is a tax exempt 501(c)3 non profit organization EIN 06-1719094. You will receive a tax receipt for proof of your tax exempt donations.

Why do you ask for a suggested donation of $10 for each bike?
We suggest a $10 processing fee for each bike donated. These funds will help fund the storage, refurbishing and distribution of the bike. This is only a suggestion, no bikes will be turned away for lack of funds.

Can I trade my old bike for a new one?
No, Community Cycles has a strict no-trade in policy. Bike donors are welcome to participate in the Earn-A-Bike program or purchase a refurbished bike from our showroom.

What will happen to my bike donation?
Most of the bikes will be used to support the Earn-A-Bike program in one form or another. Some bikes will be introduced into bike fleets around town while others will be given away to low income children and individuals. CC occasionally sends bikes abroad to places like Ghana and Namibia Africa.

Other bikes are refurbished, set up commuter style with things like cargo racks and bells and sold at fair market value. Sixty five percent of CC's annual income is from refurbished bike sales.
